Cornbread Dressing (a Southern favorite and holiday must-have)

If you're not from the south or never had Cornbread Dressing, you have not lived a good life! To be honest, I never had it until I was around 16 yrs old even though I grew up in Georgia. My parents didn't grow up in the south so it wasn't something they probably even had themselves, therefore never introduced it to us until we were older and had it other places. An older local woman used to babysit my now 18yr old son when he was a baby and shared her dressing recipe with me. It's unbelievably easy and every bite gets eaten when I bring it to my family get-togethers. Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com (one of my favorite recipe sites when I want ideas). This recipe is so simple, even my daughter who doesn't have a lot of cooking experience makes it! It has a sweet and mildly spicy taste but also lean and healthy. Pair this tenderloin with a sweet potato or cooked carrots and broccoli. Serves 6-8 INGREDIENTS 2 tsp onion powder 2 tsp garlic powder 4 T chipotle chile powder 1 T salt 1/4 C brown sugar 2 (1.5 lb) pork tenderloins DIRECTIONS Preheat grill for medium-high heat. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the onion powder, garlic powder, chipotle chile powder, salt, and brown sugar. Place tenderloins in bag and shake, coating meat evenly. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes. Lightly oil grill grate, and arrange meat on grate. Cook for 20 minutes, turning meat every 5 minutes. Grilled Cabbage

I'm not sure where I found this recipe, but it has to be the best cooked cabbage recipe by far!! Some of my friends request it a cookouts and I've even had one pay me to cook it for his family. It's so simple, but incredibly delicious! You will need a hot grill-gas or charcoal! INGREDIENTS 1 head of cabbage 1 package of smoked sausage 1 cup water 1/4 (1/2 stick) cup butter 1 tsp celery seeds 1 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper DIRECTIONS Chop the cabbage into approximately 2" pieces. Be sure to discard the core. Cut up the smoked sausage into about 12 pieces. In a lasagna foil pan, place the sausage around the outer edges. Place the cabbage into the pan, starting in the center. The pan will be full. Pour in the water. Cut the butter into 1/2" slices onto the top of the cabbage. Sprinkle on the celery seeds, salt and pepper. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Mom's French Toast

Growing up and to this day, this has to be our favorite breakfast ever! My mom wouldn't buy syrup because it wasn't a natural sweetener (usually made with high fructose corn syrup) and real maple syrup is expensive. BUT, I promise if you try your french toast this way, you will never want it with syrup again! My kids love it and I actually got up early for work a couple of weeks ago to make this for some of my co-workers, everyone loved it. My favorite piece is the end piece (the heel). I always cook it last and pour the last bit of egg mixture on it. It takes a couple more minutes to cook because it's so saturated. It's worth the wait because it tastes like bread pudding...yummy! Easy Breakfast Potatoes

If you want to cook breakfast at home but don't know what to make, if you have pototaes in your pantry, that's all you really need. I love home fries (breakfast potatoes)! I like to cook them with scrambled eggs and other leftover ingredients in my fridge (spinach, tomatoes, onions, bacon, ham, etc). You could have the best breakfast you ever made in just a little time. And I promise it will be better than eating at Waffle House or the IHOP. This recipe makes enough for 2 if only eating potatoes, 4 if making other sides like eggs and meat. INGREDIENTS 2 large potatoes 1 small onion, cut into 1" pieces (optional) 1/2 bell pepper, cut into 1" pieces (optional) 3 T butter or 1/8 C vegetable oil or bacon grease DIRECTIONS Puncture holes into the top of the potatoes using a fork.
